Hi there,

My name is Shaney and I live in Tsukuba, Ibaraki.  I lived in Fukushima for five years and now I am in my seventh year in Ibaraki.  I have a masters degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Tsukuba and I am now working as the administrator of Tsukuba International School, a small but growing school in Tsukuba Science City.  I have worked as a JET ALT and a private CIR, been a student, and been both a freelance translator and an in-house translator, so I hope I will be able to contribute to a variety to topics on this board (at least the ones that don’t specifically relate to living in Tokyo, which I have never done).

In my free time, I like to make websites and manage online communities.  I am a member of an uncountable number of mailing lists and I am a moderator and webmaster for Angels with Fur Japan, FreeStuff Japan, Frugal Japan, Tell and Sell Japan and some local groups in Tsukuba.

Are there any other Tsukubans out there?

Shaney.

Hi Amy,

Wow, I would love to hear more about your writing.  I am a big fan of Neil Gaiman.  I’ll send you a private message so we can try to meet up at some point in Tsukuba.
